Ability to plan, distribute, and control shipments to various warehouses and customers within the time standards laid down by the company, at the optimum cost.
Should be familiar with modern material handling methods and should have used technology and specialized software to improve productivity and reduce damages during storage and distribution of goods.
Should ensure optimum utilization of all distribution and transport resources. Should also develop alternate and innovative methods of distribution, keeping in mind the company's needs for quick distribution at minimum cost.
Should be familiar with computerized Logistics operations and should utilize the company's ERP system effectively to improve the Logistics function.
Should be able to develop and help dealers in improving their material handling methods to reduce damages.
Should monitor and control overheads and operating expenses.
Should prepare an Annual budget for the Logistics function for approval by Management.
Should provide periodic information to Management regarding Logistics activities and develop standards for evaluating the efficiency of the department.
