The World Logistics Council (WLC), a Swiss based semi-government organization with offices around the world, invites world-class leaders to join our mission in the position of Director Public Relations & Government Affairs MEA based in our Beirut Lebanon office .
POSITION SUMMARY/STRATEGIC ROLE
Under the direction of the Secretary General for the region, the Director P & G assists in the management of the regional public / government affairs and operations as well as the development and implementation of policies and procedures. The Director P & G provides leadership in the establishment and maintenance of relationships with pan regional semi-government organizations, Government Ministries, Central Banks, industry associations, and other NGOs. The Director also oversees the co-convening of hosted events in countries throughout the region including high- level government and industry key - note speakers, expert panelists and press conferences with local and international media. The incumbent sets goals, monitors work, and evaluates results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the organization.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists Secretary General in liaising with Government
officials such as Ministries of Trade, Finance, and
Economy as well as Central Banks and NGOs to
co-convene events related to our global initiative.
2. Implements corporate policies, procedures, and
organizational structure for assigned operating unit within
the framework of corporate policy.
3. Works with the Secretary General to shape and develop
regional strategy and organization.
4. Oversees operational logistics for multiple country events
including vendor negotiation and venue selection.
5. Manages identification and contact building of event
attendees and invitation process
6. Directs content development of print and electronic
communication materials for preparation by graphics
design and e-media personnel
7. Establishes relationships with local and international media
and manages press conferences and press releases
8. Provides support to any number of projects from an
operational, financial and resource standpoint.
9. Directs and ensures compliance, of operational units'
short-term and long-term goals with overall corporate
objectives.
10. Plans and supervises all assigned work unit activities
through subordinate managers to ensure a cohesive
operational unit.
11. Provides advice, guidance, and direction to subordinate
executives and managers toward their professional
development.
12. Coordinates and confers with professional staff to resolve
operations issues and difficulties, and authorize
department operational procedures within corporate
framework. May serve as management team member.
13. Performs additional assignments as required by the needs
of the operational unit, company, or as directed by the
Secretary General.
