The World Logistics Council (WLC), a Swiss based semi-government organization with offices around the world, invites world-class leaders to join our mission in the position of Manager Public Relations & Government Affairs for our office in Beirut Lebanon
POSITION SUMMARY/STRATEGIC ROLE
Under the direction of the Director of P & G for the region, the Manager assists in establishment and management of regional public / government affairs as well as the development and implementation of policies and procedures. The Manager provides leadership in the establishment and maintenance of relationships with pan regional semi-government organizations, Government Ministries, Central Banks, industry associations, and other NGOs. The Manager also assists with the co-convening of hosted events in countries throughout the region including high level government and industry key note speakers, expert panelists and press conferences with local and international media. The incumbent sets goals, monitors work, and evaluates results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the organization.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Implement corporate policies, procedures, and
organizational structure for assigned operating unit within
the framework of corporate policy.
2. Assist Director of P & G in liaising with Government
officials such as Ministries of Trade, Finance, and Economy
as well as Central Banks and NGOs to co-convene events
related to our global initiative.
3. Assists with operational logistics for multiple country
events including vendor negotiation and venue selection.
4. Manages identification of event attendees and invitation
process
5. Directs content development of print and electronic
communication materials for preparation by graphics
design and e-media personnel
6. Establishes relationships with local and international media
and manages press conferences and press releases
7. Provide support to any number of projects from an
operational, financial and resource standpoint.
8. Assist in the establishment, and ensure compliance, of
operational units' short-term and long-term goals with
overall corporate objectives.
9. Plan, staff, and supervise all assigned work unit activities
through subordinate managers to ensure a cohesive
operational unit.
10. Provide advice, guidance, and direction to subordinate
executives and managers toward their professional
development.
11. Coordinate and confer with professional staff to resolve
operations issues and difficulties, and authorize
department operational procedures within corporate
framework. May serve as management team member.
12. Perform additional assignments as required by the needs
of the operational unit, company, or as directed by the
Director of P & G.
