PURPOSE OF FUNCTION WITHIN THE IKEA CONCEPT:
To develop sales in an efficient and effective way in all media in order to attract more customers to come more often and buy more.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To use the IKEA business priorities, knowledge of our range, trends, regional markets, competition, customers' living situations to actively support the General Manager - Sales & Range and Sales team to optimise sales and long-term, sustained profitability within our home-furnishing businesses (HFBs).
ASSIGNMENT:
Commercial
The overall objective is to actively support the sales function to grow sales and sustain long term profitability.
Working with the year cycle to understand and connect with the IKEA core processes for commercial planning, pricing and forecasting.
* Actively working with the General Manager - Sales & Range to help the commercial team develop an effective country and regional strategy and commercial calendar.
* Assisting the General Manager - Sales & Range and Sales Leaders to plan sales, pricing process, margin, range management and business intelligent solutions.
* Knowing our global priorities, our range, the national and regional market and competition, and using this information to actively work with my sales leaders to develop their home-furnishing business plan, thereby contributing to the country/regional business plan.
* Knowing the competitive advantages of our product range and identifying the strengths and weaknesses in our offer, keeping up-to-date on new products.
* Leading the Sales Leaders in the national pricing process by working with them to make effective price and volume choices. Ensure the overall pricing meets the sales and gross margin goals for the country and the IKEA global pricing direction.
* Coaching the Sales Leaders to effectively steer their HFBs to achieve their business goals, by using the available information to understand the impact of individual product margins and price deviations on overall gross margin.
* Analyzing the results of our pricing policy to understand the impact on our gross margin and sales goals throughout the year and recommend appropriate action to ensure we meet our year goals; following-up to ensure action is taken.
* Proactively working with the Commercial Activities Leader to identify suitable products to support national commercial activities, and creating appropriate tools to effectively monitor sales during activity periods.
* Supporting the Sales Leaders in their drive to sell their volume commitments, monitoring store sales results and giving information which allows them to follow-up on deviations. We do this in order to improve poor performance and share good examples.
* Knowing the sales steering tools and using these to create accurate follow-up reports in order for stores to effectively sales steer.
* Knowing the peak times of the General Manager - Sales & Range and Sales Leaders and the deadlines they work to.
* Proactively maintain, develop and administrate the sales intranet site.
Commercial
* Identify existing and follow development of proposed or amended national product legislation and standards i.e. Safety, Environmental, Health, Quality and Legal information specific to the Retail market and provide IoS PR&C with an analysis of the content and possible implications with sufficient lead time for IKEA to implement any action required to secure complian
