Special Program Manager - Qatar Foundation Apr 29th 2013, 12:47 Job Purpose: The Special Program Manager will manage and support the implementation of QNRF research competitions and projects and other research-related programs and operations for the Qatar National Research Strategy (QNRS). Key Result Areas: • Work with the QNRF Programs Director, to establish policies and procedures pertinent to building human capacity in research and providing training opportunities for further development • Manage all pre-award activities • Develop Special Programs budgets with the QNRF Programs Director • Supervise Special Program Officer(s) • Produce the Request for Proposal (RFP) for all Special Programs • Develop strong connections between the QNRF and potential researchers and their institutions and facilitate the development of high-quality proposals • Serve as primary point of contact for applicants for policy issues, including clarifying program objectives and goals • Manage daily operations within assigned programs, including supervision of staff • Work closely with IT staff to ensure coordination of information system and web-based support for programmatic activities • Organize and manage panels meetings when applicable including nominating and inviting the panellists • Present funding recommendations to the QNRF Programs Director • Provide statistical analyses to streamline funding cut off points and recommend funding levels • Prepare closeout reports for all completed cycles, describing the accomplishments from QNRF's perspective and formulating recommendations for improving these programs in the future • Cultivate a network of distinguished researchers and subject matter experts to serve as peer-reviewers/panellists, subject to the Programs Director's approval • Conduct outreach to stakeholders and promote knowledge of the QNRF Job Details Date Posted: 2013-04-29 Job Location: Doha, Qatar Job Role: Support Services Company Industry: Community/Social Services/and Nonprofit Preferred Candidate Career Level: Management Degree: Bachelor's degree / higher diploma Apply Now - Jobs in Qatar - Search All Jobs
