Job Description:
Finance Functional Developer
The SAP Finance Functional Developer will work with Customer Solutions Leads and business clients to support and implement global processes primarily using standard SAP solutions as well as other systems interfaced with SAP to support the business process.
Solution Support and Development
• Work with Customer Solutions analysts and business personnel to understand finance business processes and provide the technology to support these processes
• Based on requirements submitted by the business, develop mid-level conceptual and detailed functional specifications for changes to the SAP ECC system
• Primary responsibility for incident management and resolution for area of responsibility
• Understand and follow all relevant standard LyondellBasell IT processes and procedures
• Perform configuration for the Finance (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules including integrated components within SD and MM
• Consult with ABAP developers and provide technical specs to develop customized solutions
• Consult with other custom code developers and develop technical specs for interfaced solutions
• Perform unit testing of changes (configuration, custom development, etc) in development and staging environments, including regression testing of functionality that may be impacted by change
• Coordinate long chain testing where appropriate of changes (configuration, custom development, etc) in development and staging environments
• Provide input and suggestions on business processes and technical solutions based on knowledge of area of responsibility
• Provide prototypes of new functionality based on client needs
• Provide support for other activities that impact the FI and CO areas, such as configuration changes to support changing business conditions, SAP ECC upgrades, application of hot packs, project work, etc.
• Provide ad hoc training and knowledge to business super users as required in run and maintain activities, such as remedial training, issue resolution, etc.
Required Skills:
· Demonstrated proficiency in SAP Sales and Distribution & Logistics Execution and integration with the following SAP modules\functionality:
· Finance (FI)
· Including ETL methodologies for converting data from a legacy SAP system
· Controlling (CO)
· Assets
· Including knowledge of parallel accounting for US GAAP, IFRS, and statutory GAAP
· Material Ledger
• Functional knowledge of user exits and ability to write clear specifications to technical team in the Finance & Controlling areas
• Experience with SAP ECC 5.0 or SAP ECC 6.0
• Ability to relate technical ideas and functionality to non-technical users
• 5+ years SAP experience required
• Understanding of Chemicals Industry best practices preferred
• Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and deliver results
Additional Requirements
• Some overtime will be required
• Early or late hours sometimes required for meetings with European and Asian personnel
