Working on a shift basis, the female technician/technologist will undertake a range of imaging procedures to acquire biomedical data within a controlled clinical research environment.
Duties will include:
• Conducting all activities according to defined standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Perform a number of imaging procedures to acquire biomedical data, e.g. Bone Densitometry, Carotid Ultrasound, Retinal Photography. Later MRI scanning will be included.
• Acquire data safely and confidentially.
• Ensure participant safety and comfort at all times.
• Ensure that where radiation is used in the acquisition of images, all efforts should be undertaken to reduce the amount of radiation exposure to as small as reasonable achievable.
• Ensure all equipment is used safely and responsibly, following departmental protocols.
KEY RESULT AREAS
1. Directly undertaking a variety of imaging procedures and recording all activities, including time, equipment, SOP used, etc., using dedicated IT systems;
2. To ensure that the participant experience is a positive one by the smooth running of the imaging procedures to provide a participant centred imaging service.
3. To ensure that all procedures and record keeping is done to the necessary standards, with accuracy and attention to detail.
