Job Purpose Summary:
Act as a Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) in one or more of the technology domain to business and technical leadership for driving and managing the entire technology services, solutions, platforms, information, and technical architecture models.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Lead and manage the entire technology services, solutions, platforms, information, and technical architecture models.
• Lead the development and management of governance structures for architecture-related decision-making aligned with defined business and technology objectives.
• Lead the development, management, implementation and compliance of architectural design roadmap, models, diagrams and documentation.
• Manage the translation of business requirements into solutions patterns and end-to-end solution designs that align with technology standards and strategies and meet the agreed qualities (usability, reusability, agility, scalability, maintainability, availability, retainability, and security).
• Manage the analysis of on-going solutions suitability and alignment with changing business needs and drive tactical changes to features and solutions landscape, including consolidation and retirement of applications.
• Manage periodic and post-project compliance reviews for Technology implementations against architecture standards and recommend solution redesign in case of compliance deviation.
• Oversee the management of architecture repositories of models, designs, documentation, and relevant artifacts.
• Provide technical and thought leadership for best practices in solutions design and architectural frameworks.
• Keep current on product trends and technology innovations and act as the primary source for technology trends.
• Lead build-versus-buy decisions and activities always looking to leverage existing functionality.
• Oversee a small team of architects
• Research, analyze, and promote technology standards to be used across the business.
• Interface with operational Technology departments to implement new features and solutions and audit existing solutions for suitability against architectural standards.
• Act as technical team lead.
• Lead the technical RFP development for cross-functional projects to ensure integration of solution with existing solutions and ensure compliance with overall architecture
• Solid understanding of existing solutions.
• Ensure that solution design follow industry architecture frameworks.
Other Responsibilities:
• Provide personal and professional leadership inspiring staff towards excellence in section/departmental and Al Jazeera goals through coaching, providing training and development opportunities and providing career development and planning.
• Act as visionary and strategist for solution product area Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and management aspects on assigned projects.
• Manages consistency in approach and designing solutions that achieve goals, efficiency, and effectiveness
• Ensures differentiation to achieve competitive, geographical, and other requirements
• Ensures that solutions similarities and differences fit together in context of Aljazeera's strategy
• Leads solutions with business goals and processes, uses and provides enterprise information consistently, integrates solutions effectively with other applications, supports a common application environment and user interaction model, uses the common technology platform, and achieves enterprise level security, QoS and scale.

• Build and maintain repository for deliverables, methodologies, and business development documents
