Main Purpose of Job:

The business of IP & Science provides research and analytic solutions, including Web of Knowledge (WoK), the “gold standard” citation database and search platform, that help scientists and researchers find, analyze, and leverage authoritative scholarly content. Customers include universities, academic and governmental research institutions, scholars and researchers, publishers, and university faculty and administrators.

The Marketing Manager MAR is responsible for developing and implementing regional marketing plans for MAR in order to meet the strategic go to market objectives of the MAR IP&Science business.
This position includes supporting the development of the strategy for launch planning, go-to-market programs, and sales readiness as well as overall results-focused execution.

This position will be responsible for named and new products within the classification of MAR IP&Science.

The role will closely liaise with Product Management Leads who are responsible for directing technical investment.

Responsibilities:
- Develop marketing communication plans to meet the strategic objectives of the MAR regional business.
- Plan and implement marketing projects, with agreed deadlines and budget allocation.
- Implement effective marketing campaigns across the marketing mix that support regional branding, customer acquisition and customer retention.
- Track revenues, sales trends and market potential within the region in order to devise and execute marketing programs.
- Develop customer acquisition campaigns to support sales, including vertical market campaigns, product specific promotions and personalized customer communications.
- Oversee creation of all marketing materials for assigned segments, including sales sheets, brochures, competitive product comparisons, case studies, white papers, proposals, presentations, product demos, pod casts, video casts etc...
- Ensure use of appropriate systems (CRM, contact management etc..) to manage, track and report on projects, and provide sales with accurate information about a specific project generating leads.
- Ensure marketing program design and execution is aligned with strategic goals
- Identify and coordinate opportunities to leverage customer testimonial and case studies
- Monitor program status and effectiveness.
Identify and drive actions to maximize product success

Qualifications

Required Skills:
- Experience in business-to-business marketing within the IP & Science market sector.
- Experience in direct marketing, web marketing, advertising, collateral production and event management.
- Clearly demonstrable experience of preparing tactical marketing plans, working to budget and time deadlines and reporting on ROI.
- Strong project management skills and strength in managing multiple projects/deadlines.
- Strong customer orientation.
- Strong facilitation skills.
- Excellent oral and written English communications.
- Well organized and disciplined with regards to policy, procedure and standards.
